Equal Opportunity Graffiti
I painted over graffiti with black-board pain, installed a box of colorful chalk, and invited all passers by to “tag the tags.” The project was titled Equal Opportunity Graffiti because you did not need to be carrying spray paint, or consider yourself a “tagger,” in order to satisfy that primal urge to write your name on a wall. Every time someone would tag the Equal Opportunity Graffiti “throw-up” I would paint over their tag and in doing so would expand the playing field. The “game’ went on like this for about two weeks.
